Little Aiden was wide awake during the start of his session so I decided to just swaddle him and capture his gorgeous eyes, cute little grin, and tiny features. Then, he quickly drifted off to sleep and I finished up his newborn session with a few baby-led poses.
This sweet little babe was so tiny! I could not get over her perfect little rosy cheeks and lips! What a gorgeous little one!
I'm definitely one of those people who believes that all things happen for a reason.
Around a month or so ago, my husband accepted a promotion at work. Let me tell you, it was definitely well deserved! However, with that promotion came a few changes and sacrifices.
First, this promotion meant that he would have to be more "available" at work. Second, this promotion meant that I would need to slow down and be more particular in the types of work that I take on so that I could be more present at home.
When I sat down to figure out how we could both adapt to the new change I think I thought of every scenario possible. I could keep going on an chugging along like I've always done, or I could start to make my business fit my life instead of the other way around.
So, that's what I did. I thought about every single service I offer and every single process and workflow that goes along with those services. At the end of the day, there was one thing that I knew had to go and that thing was being a wedding photographer.
Let me tell you, that was hard decision! I've spent A LOT of time building up my wedding photography business and I've loved it so much. BUT, at this season of my life, my family is more important.
Although I've said a "goodbye" of sorts to wedding photography that does not mean that I'm closing my business. Instead, I've decided to put all of my attention and skills into maternity, newborn, baby, and family photography and let me be the first to say....
It's the best decision I've ever made.
I now have a small but cozy photography studio here in my home that is completely filled with everything needed for a successful session. It's quiet and peaceful and I love it!
I still have a few weddings on the books that I'll be shooting, but after those are completed this coming summer, I'll be hanging my wedding photographer hat up for good.
I can't wait to see what the changes bring, and I'm so excited about all of the new services I'm able to offer!
